We were looking for a long time and we finally found what we were looking for. With the Isenhof in Knittelsheim we are opening another chapter which is called “Finally arrived”. From October 2024 we will welcome you as our guests in our small, crooked, half-timbered house.

The Isenhof in Knittelsheim is an old merchant’s house from the 17th century, until recently it was lovingly looked after by Petra Dolt and Peter Steverding who successfully operated it as a restaurant for over 25 years. We have been connected for several years and are very proud to be able to take on this legacy. For us this place is the optimum in its entirety, not too big, not too small, a nice covered terrace and we can also offer guest rooms in the future.

Our culinary identity and idea of gastronomy are primarily derived from what surrounds us. The idea of using what grows and thrives on our doorstep first is the maxim of irori.

We start our days with personal contact with our farmers and producers in order to procure food of exceptional quality or to refine it into an unforgettable treat through craftsmanship. We want to know how cycles can be created or maintained. Nature and its rhythm determine the choice of ingredients and also the preparation. Our network stretches from the Palatinate to the Black Forest through our gastronomic stations. Globalization allows us to expand ingredients according to their culinary added value without dogma in the radius of distance in order to complement or round things off.

Restaurant

The price for the 9-course menu is €140 per person.

If ordered in advance, our menu is also available vegetarian from June to October (we can offer pescatarian meals all year round). Please inform us in advance using the booking form in the “Additional information”

If you would like to bring your dog, please mention this when making your reservation.

Guest Rooms

We offer guest rooms in our house for guests of our restaurant. We have a double room (2 people €100) and a “mini suite” with two bedrooms (up to four people, 2 people €100, 3 people €150, 4 people €175). You can book the rooms – if available – when making your reservation. Please state the number of people under “Details” on the booking form.

The overnight stay is paid for when you visit the restaurant. There is no regular breakfast, but we have filter coffee or tea in the rooms and a small starter for the day. For dogs in the room we charge €25 for cleaning (please also state this when making your reservation). Check-in is from 4:30 p.m., check-out by 11:00 a.m.

We are also open between the years and on New Year’s Eve. All information about these events is available here.
